TVFMC Treasurer Jane Bowler is finalist in NatWest Venus Awards!

Oct 30th, 2014

Congratulations to Jane Bowler from Dews Meadow Farm, who has been voted a finalist in the 2014 NatWest Venus Awards Oxfordshire Small Business Award, known as the 'working women's oscars' , by her local bank manager.

We all know that Jane is passionate about farming and with husband Andy has been running a farm shop in East Hanney since 1986, where she has built up a loyal following of customers from around the Thames Valley and beyond. She rears her own pigs on the farm and has been a trailblazer for additive-free pork and dry-curing of bacon since the mid 1980s.

Committed to local food and sustainability, Jane is a driving force behind TVFMC. The delicious smell of bacon cooking at farmers' markets around the Thames Valley is likely to be Jane on the Dews Meadow Farm stall at the crack of dawn, serving bacon and sausage sandwiches to the local customers!

Dews Meadow produces a whole range of home-reared pork products and has won numerous awards for its home-cured bacon and even produces speciality 'designer' sausages and burgers! Jane will not find out whether she is a National winner until the awards ceremony on 14 November.

To celebrate Anila will be running special offers including the chance to either win a cookery class with her or a hamper of Anila’s products. Her delicious sauces are suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs. They are sugar, dairy and gluten free, and contain no onion or garlic, as well as being free from artificial colours, additives and preservatives. See the press release for further information, or visit her at Newbury 1, Reading 1 or Reading 2 markets.
